A Dragonfly's Journey to Family Culture, Heritage & Legacy

“Families create communities that lead to the foundation of our larger society.  Who you are, your culture, heritage, and legacy all begin with your family.”

Book #2 of the Jourdan’s Journeys™ series encourages children to explore the beauty of their family.  A family’s culture, heritage, and legacy are all one of a kind.  What families contribute to one another and to the world they live in is special.

On this journey, Jourdan wants to know: What reminds you that your family is beautiful and wonderfully created?

Author’s Note on the Writing of A Dragonfly’s Journey to Family Culture, Heritage & Legacy

“My large family included individuals I felt most loved by.  Spending valuable time with my parents and extended family was how my West Indian roots and culture would be embraced, heritage passed down and legacies formed.  This is also how my family’s legacy for serving God and loving others took shape.  We were far from perfect, but family nonetheless.

It is my hope that you will take this opportunity to explore the rich connections and wonderful aspects of your family.  Cultivate a healthy family culture and create positive memories together.  Inspire others – especially children, to embrace their family’s unique culture, heritage, and legacy.  No matter how your family began or developed, remember that every family is beautiful and wonderfully created.  Therefore, you are too.”

– Patricia E. Lewis
